5 People Injured In a Truck Accident Caused by Careless Driver

Interstate 10 was closed for several hours after a truck accident caused by a careless driver injured five people.
State troopers are still investigating what caused the crash that happened on Friday, November 29th, in the late afternoon hours.
The collision occurred on Interstate 10 close to mile marker 7, about 4:10 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) informed that there were tracks from the left tires of the truck that went into the grass median while driving westward on I-10.
According to the crash report, the eighteen-year-old driver Alexandria Simmons tried to bring back the truck back to the left lane but lost control over the vehicle.
Florida Highway Patrol said that the attempt for stopping made the truck go to the grass median and into the left lane of the intersection when it began flipping.
Simmons was transporting four other passengers, three of those were children, aged one to two. The children suffered minor and non-life threatening injuries.
Police informs that Simmons was cited for careless driving.
