Florida Highway Patrol got a call for a golf cart crash on US-41 in which an eighty-six-year-old woman was fatally injured. The crash involved a vehicle and a golf cart in North Fort Myers on December 14.
The crews went to the scene on southbound US-41 in front of the Tamiami Village & RV Park. The eighty-six-year-old woman who was driving a golf cart was killed in a crash.
A twenty-year-old woman was the driver of the vehicle that was involved in the crash and she had minor injuries.
According to the state troopers, a dog was with the woman on the golf cart. The woman’s family took the dog, which probably had no injuries.
The accident happened in front of the RV community at the intersection with US-41 and Leesure Lane, north of Littleton Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the golf cart was traveling eastbound on Leesure Ln. toward US-41 when the vehicle was going southbound on US-41 toward the intersection. The golf cart cut the path of the car, and the front of the car crashed into the side of the golf cart.
The eighty-six-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The young woman driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
FHP was investigating the golf cart crash on US-41 and the scene has since been cleared.
