Collision with fatal outcomes occurred on San Carlos Boulevard near Fort Meyers Beach on Monday morning.
Three people died in the accident, reports Florida Highway Police.
Fifty-three-year-old David Pennington of Arizona was driving a 2017 Lexus E350 going northbound on San Carlos Boulevard. He had a passenger with him, fifty-four-year-old Virginia Giebel from Arizona. The vehicle crossed the median and drove directly into the path of a 2004 Jeep driven by thirty-three-year-old Samantha Green from Fort Myers Beach, who was driving south on San Carlos Boulevard.
The collision was so potent that it made the Jeep to flip over; it finally stopped on the driver’s side.
Both Green and Giebel were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Pennington was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he died from the severity of his injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, it is unknown if any of the people involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt. It is also unknown if alcohol was a factor for the crash.
The police are still investigating the accident.
