Three people died in an accident that happened on Tuesday in the early morning hours, on U.S. 441 in Miami Gardens. The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. and closed U.S. 441 (Northwest Seventh Avenue) for approximately five hours while the police were investigating the area, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lieutenant Alejandro Camacho said that a grey Nissan Altima was going north on Northwest Seventh Avenue and was trying to make a left turn onto Northwest 204th Terrace. The vehicle then hit a black Mercedes sedan that was travelling south on US 441.
The man who was driving the Alima had two female passengers in the vehicle; the three of them were killed in the crash. For now, it is not known if the female passengers were adult or minors.
The Mercedes driver was transported to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The police will release the identity of the victims, once their families are notified.
