Accidents of this type are very common. Even though when engine problems occur, most drivers tend to check the vehicle, it might not be a good idea to get out on the road. If you were injured in a similar accident or lost a loved one in such a case, make sure to get legal assistance. After the primary medical help, it’s time to call an attorney. No matter how the accident happened, and whether or not you contributed anyhow to it, call a car accident lawyer and inform them about the crash.
Even though the police will ask questions and you’re expected to give information about the crash, avoid saying things like “it’s my fault” or “I didn’t see them”. For any tricky question, you can refuse to give a further answer; just wait till you consult with your attorney. Your lawyer will review the accident, gather evidence on their own if it’s necessary, get the police report and help you negotiate with the insurers.
